It is important to work at two levels. Firstly we need to learn about the business' needs. What does the business see as success? What criteria does it use to identify and measure that success? Secondly we need to work with the individuals in question either one on one or in a team, to understand their strengths and weaknesses. By approaching coaching in this way we can custom-build specific topics and methods of delivery so that they are as effective as possible.
The people that we work with come from varying backgrounds and need a flexible and varying approach to their development. For some, this involves one-on-one coaching where we are looking towards fine tuning performance. Others who want to become more fluent in the softer skills respond better in small groups where they can trade minds with an intimate group, and this may be as part of an in-house session or via open programme style coaching. Others come to the fore in the workshop environment of say, 10 or 12 people. In many cases we provide mentoring both before and after coaching sessions or as a standalone service to reinforce and enhance personal development.
Flexibility also extends to the way these programmes are delivered. A range of options are available to suit the needs of the businesses and people we work with. All sessions can be delivered in person, over the phone or via web-conferencing as required.
Furthermore, efforts are made to increase the value of any development programme. For example, it is often found that short sessions have more impact and advantage can be gained by a short pre-programme interview and post-programme follow ups to reinforce content and answer any questions. |
