Internal Communications (part 2)

It is often noted that a successful company has a positive culture. In the main that culture is defined by its internal communications. When those communications are of a high quality everybody feels like part of the organization and part of a whole. They feel free to contribute with their ideas and opinions, they know they will be listened to, and as a result feel involved which brings with it motivation and other benefits.

The Manager’s role and responsibility is in making sure that the culture remains positive and that the communications channels are open and working. Are we keeping information flowing in both directions? Does everybody in the team know where we are going, how we are going to get there and what part they have to play?

Download the Internal Communication Audit form. This is an opportunity for you to test the effectiveness of the communications channels in your department or company. The more ticks in the “yes” column the better the working environment. As 2010 approaches it has to be high on the list of improvements for keeping people informed, keeping them involved and keeping them contributing to the success of your business.
